How cool a shoot. Not only to have free rein to run around the Museum of Modern Art, but to do it with the Blue Man Group!
We had to move fast though – get them into makeup and shoot early in the morning as the Museum started to fill up with people. We had a cut off time we had to be OUT! But we got our shots and everyone had a blast doing it.
The hidden work involved in Post-Production here was the fact that the lighting at the Museum of Modern Art sucks! It’s actually quite surprising. You’d think it would be clean, bright-white lights. But no. Dull top-lighting. And due to the limitations of shooting there, only a very minimal of film-lighting could be used as fill.
So a lot of post-trickery was used to make the shots work (a lot of color-correction in post). Plus their blue makeup is punched up in post to be more vibrant.
